It’s sure to be a busy weekend at Shakey Lakes Park for the 2018 Menominee County Fair. The event runs this Friday through Sunday and includes staples like food stands, animal exhibits and live music. Fair manager Eric Tickler says carnival rides and games will make their return to the fair.
Despite declining attendance numbers in recent years, Tickler hopes the fair will draw in around 3500 guests this weekend- nearly twice as many as in 2017. Tickler has been able to trace the roots of the Menominee County Fair back over 140 years and he says the local community has stepped up to ensure it continues on for years to come.
Tickets for the Menominee County Fair are $5 each for guests ages five and up that admission fee allows access to all three days of the fair. Veterans will be admitted for free on Friday. The full schedule of events is available in the 2018 fair book found on the Menominee County website.
