07/26/2019- It may be the M&M’s biggest celebration of the summer. The 2019 Waterfront Festival in downtown Menominee kicks off next Thursday, promising four days of music, food, and entertainment for the entire family. Festival Director Nancy Douglas says the event, which has been put on for decades, continues to bring people in from across the region and even across the world.
Douglas has been at the helm of the festival’s organizing committee for many years, but says it takes the entire community- including hundreds of volunteers- to pull it off.
Headlining events for this year’s Waterfront Festival include the children’s parade Thursday, Thunder on the Bay fireworks show Saturday at dusk, and the festival parade stepping off at noon on Sunday, as well as kid’s activities and musical performances all weekend long. The festival runs August 1st through the 4th and the full schedule can be found at waterfrontfestival.info.
