07/20/2018- The nation’s oldest continuous Venture-age Scouting event kicks off tonight at Menominee’s Great Lakes Memorial Marina. The 70th annual Bay Jammer will host water, land, and other competition and spirit-building activities for almost 200 Scouts and their families this weekend. Bay Jammer Chairman Tom Gromala says the public is invited to attend, as well, to view the camaraderie and cheer on the participants.
Bay Jammer brings in Scouts from all over the Midwest. Gromala says this is an alumni year for the event, which means both current and former Scouts will have the chance to put their skills to the test.
Scouts can still register to take part at the event’s headquarters station inside the M&M Yacht Club building. Bay Jammer is open to Scouts between the ages of 14 and 20 years old.
