On Friday in Menominee County Circuit Court, 22 year old Peter Sand plead guilty to one of the three felonies he was charged with— false report or threat of terrorism. The other two charges, terrorism using the internet or a telecommunications system and using a computer to commit a crime, will be dismissed as part of the plea deal. In April the Menominee County Prosecutor’s Office Manager reported to the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office Detectives that the Prosecutor’s Office had received threatening voicemail messages on February 1st and the 15th. A search warrant was obtained for the residence of Sand on April 9th and additional evidence implicating Sand in terroristic threats against City of Marquette governmental officials and Delta County Board of Commissioners members were obtained. Sand is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 20 in Menominee County Circuit Court.
