08/26/2020- John Denver fans can head to Peshtigo this week for an outdoor production by the Coastal Players celebrating the legendary musician. “A John Denver Songbook” is the group’s sophomore production and will be performed as an open-air, picnic-style show at Badger Park today through the 28th. The production is directed by Christopher Logan, an alumni of Theatre on the Bay , 3-Time Joseph Jefferson Award Nominee, and a current vocalist with Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. Local performers and musicians have been without traditional performance spaces as COVID-19 and it’s safety protocols have pressed pause on large indoor social gatherings, so the production team managed to put this outdoor show together in only 5 weeks. Attendees are welcome to bring their own food and beverages to enjoy during the show and social distancing will be strongly encouraged, as well as mask wearing if social distancing is not possible. Coastal Players is a not for profit theatre company in the Marinette/Menominee area that was created in 2019. A John Denver Songbook begins at 6 p.m. nightly. It’s free and open to the public, but donations are welcome and information on doing so can be found on the Coastal Players Facebook page.
