At approximately 7:15 pm, officers were attempting to arrest a 25-year-old Marinette man on an outstanding felony warrant when he fled from officers on foot into his residence near Ogden and Russell Streets where he barricaded himself in a bedroom. Police say the man was threatening that he was armed with a firearm and was willing to use it.  Police established a perimeter around the scene and negotiators were able to talk the suspect into surrendering peacefully without further incident.  He was lodged in the Marinette County Jail on several felony charges.  The investigation is continuing and his name is being withheld pending formal charges through the Marinette County District Attorney’s office.

Marinette police were assisted at the scene by Menominee Police, the Marinette and Menominee County Sheriff’s Offices, Wisconsin State Patrol, Michigan State Police, Marinette Fire Department, Aurora Medical Center Paramedics, and Emergency Rescue Squad.
