At last night’s City of Marinette’s Common Council meeting the council was given an update by University of Wisconsin – Green Bay Director of Freshwater Strategy, Emily Tyner about the National Estuarine Research Reserve Project (NERR).  Tyner says, “we feel the time is right.”

Tyner says, “what seems to be the gap and what is needed now is a centralized organizing force.”

A NERR System supports local economic development, enhances place-based research, creates education-based resources, and facilitates local stewardship of aquatic natural resources.  For further information about NERR you can visit  uwgb.edu/nerr
