Parts of Marinette and Menominee went black this weekend. The Menominee Police Department reports that a passenger vehicle struck a power pole on Industrial Drive around 10:00 PM Friday night causing a widespread power-outage in the M&M area. The driver is believed to have fled on foot and the police were not aware of any injuries. Wisconsin Public Service says electricity was restored to the nearly 4000affected customers by 4:30 Saturday morning. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Menominee Police Department.
