01/18/2019- A new collective bargaining agreement between Marinette County and the Wisconsin Professional Police Association is nearly in place. The County’s Administrative Committee reviewed the latest draft of the document at their meeting Thursday. Corporation Counsel Gail Mattison says the WPPA is the only union the county bargains with and the 2019 agreement includes language changes related to scheduling, vacation, special call-outs, and other areas and changes the way sick time is accrued by these employees. Additionally, it grants a 2.5% wage increase for WPPA employees in 2019 and 2020 and a 1.5% increase in both the first and second halves of 2021. The Administrative Committee voted in favor of the WPPA Collective Bargaining Agreement and passed it on to the full County Board for final approval. The WPPA will also have to sign off on the agreement for it to take effect.
