02/19/2019- It’s Alzheimer’s Advocacy Day at the Wisconsin State Capitol, but Marinette County’s Aging and Disability Resource Center says you don’t have to travel all the way to Madison to make a difference. Theresa West is the ADRC’s Dementia Care Specialist. She’s working to help businesses and organizations throughout the county become safer and more accommodating for those suffering from neurodegenerative disease through their Purple Angel Training program.
The prevalence of Alzheimer’s and Dementia is rapidly increasing across much of the state and West says that’s especially true locally.
Through a grant from the Alzheimer’s Association, the ADRC is planning a public forum to discuss Alzheimer’s and Dementia-related issues this spring. That event is being held April 11th at the Community Rec Center in Marinette and begins at 5:30 PM.
