02/20/2019- Requirements are being loosened for the proposed expansion of the Menominee Regional Airport Committee. The county’s Board of Commissioners sent back a recommendation from the committee to add two additional members- one a resident airport user and the other a resident representing commercial interests- for further evaluation. Tuesday, committee members agreed to dial back the residency requirements for both positions and instead open up the new seats to a lease or sublease holder and commercial airport user regardless of whether or not they live within the county. The revised proposal was sent along to the county’s Executive Committee for review. Pending their approval, it will then be sent to the full County Board. If the expansion gets the final go-ahead, interested persons would need to apply for the new positions and receive approval from the County Board.
