06/21/2019- It’s only about a year and a half old, but one local organization is making a big difference in the lives of veterans and their families. Freedom for Patriots is a non-profit group based in Menominee that supports past and present service members with opportunities to take part in activities like premiere hunting and fishing trips, sporting events, and other trips and gatherings at no cost. Donny Lorenz sits on the Freedom for Patriots Board of Directors. He says no matter what a vet’s interests or abilities may be, this organization works to find a way to give back to them for their service.
Freedom for Patriots currently has about 80 vets registered, but they’re always accepting more. Board member Peach Blake says regardless of a service member’s branch or era, each one deserves to be recognized and there’s no cap on the number they can serve.
The organization accepts monetary or in-kind donations from residents and businesses interested in showing their support of veterans. You can get more information about the group and how to register with them by visiting the Freedom for Patriots Facebook page.
