08/17/2018- Menominee Area Public Schools’ superintendent is gearing up for his first year in the role full-time. John Mans and the district’s Board of Education reviewed Mans’ 2018-2023 contract Thursday night. Although Mans and Board President Ken Pulver previously discussed the term of the contract and salary, there was some initial concern from other board members that Mans wasn’t involved in negotiations about further contract details. However, Mans read through the document during the meeting and only made note that his allotted vacation days had been reduced from 39 to 25 annually. After amending the contract to grant 39 vacation days, the board unanimously approved the agreement. Mans, Pulver, and Board Secretary Marye Mathieu will each sign the contract before it officially takes effect.
