Marinette County has taken an official stance on the topic of net-neutrality. The Board of Supervisors voted to approve a resolution encouraging legislators to use the Congressional Review Act to reverse the FCC action taken to repeal the 2015 Open Internet Order. The item was forwarded to the board by the Economic Development Committee where members expressed concern that eliminating net neutrality would cause internet prices to skyrocket, especially for customers in rural areas such as Marinette County. The county’s resolution will now be submitted to state and federal legislators.
