08/14/2018- Local law enforcement and agencies across the state will be stepping up their efforts to crack down on impaired driving in the coming weeks. The annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign kicks off August 17th and while drunk driving remains a significant problem, officials say a growing concern is the number of drugged drivers they are seeing. During the 17-day initiative, officers will patrol in greater numbers and for longer hours to help prevent the injuries and deaths impaired drivers can cause on the roadways. In 2017, alcohol-related crashes resulted in 161 deaths and over three-thousand injuries in Wisconsin. Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over runs through September 3rd.
