Jerry Sauve--Sheriff

School safety is a top concern among law enforcement officials and parents alike. That’s why the Marinette County Sheriff’s Department and other local law enforcement agencies recently met with a number of school administrators to discuss what they can do to prevent violence. Sheriff Jerry Sauve says communication and building relationships between officers and students and staff are some of the most effective ways to keep kids safe.
Sauve adds, while the school shootings that have recently happened in Florida, Maryland, and other parts of the US seem far from home, no one is immune to these types of tragedies.
Sauve says additional meetings between school and law enforcement officials to develop new plans for school safety are being planned for the future.
