Menominee and Delta Counties will receive a share of more than 1.4 million dollars of Michigan DNR Recreation Passport grants. 22 communities in total were awarded grant funding to help complete outdoor recreation facility renovations and improvements. Through this program, the City of Menominee will receive over 46-thousand dollars to upgrade electrical services and install a security camera at the River Park Campground and Nahma Township will be given more than 52-thousand dollars to develop a trailhead that accommodates equestrian, snowmobile, ORV, and non-motorized users. Funding for the DNR’s Recreation Passport grants comes from a portion of Michigan’s annual Recreation Passport sales.
