04/24/2019- It’s one area you may not have on your spring cleaning list, but local law enforcement says it should be. The annual nationwide Drug Take-Back Day is this Saturday, April 27th, making now a good time to go through your medicine cabinet and collect any unused, unnecessary medication you have sitting around. Those items can then be brought to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office Saturday from 9:00 AM until noon for disposal. Sheriff Jerry Sauve says doing so keeps them from falling into the wrong hands.

If you can’t make it Saturday, Sauve says there are several locations, including the Sheriff’s Office, that offer medication drop-boxes year-round.

While all types of medications, both prescription and over-the-counter, will be accepted during Drug Take-Back Day, medical supplies and equipment, sharps, and inhalers cannot be. Other drop-off locations for the event include Bay Area Mobility Center, the BAMC Stephenson Pharmacy, the Amberg Community Center, and the Niagara Police Department.
