03/23/2018–High school students having volunteered above and beyond their schools’ community service requirements are eligible for nomination for the Young Philanthropist Award. The award’s funding is provided by the M&M Area Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) along with the Stephenson National Bank & Trust. The recipient will be given the opportunity to direct a $500 grant to the non-profit of their choice. Students, youth clubs, and school organizations residing in Marinette and Menominee counties are eligible for nomination. The volunteer efforts must benefit non-profit organizations as well as the nominees’ school. A student may not be nominated if they have accepted a premium from the charitable organization as a reward for their philanthropic efforts.
