The search is on for a new top dog in the Peshtigo School District. The Board of Education heard presentations from two superintendent search firms Wednesday night. First were representatives from the Wisconsin Association of School Boards. They said the average superintendent search takes between two and three months to conduct and they would guarantee the new superintendent for two years, offering to perform the search again should that person leave the district within that time frame. The cost for their services ranges from $8500 to $10-thousand. Representatives from CESA 7 and 8 also presented to the board and explained that once a new administrator was hired, they would check in with board members at the 6- and 12-month marks to assess progress and overall board satisfaction. The cost for the CESA firm would be $5000. After deliberating in closed session, the Peshtigo School Board agreed to hire CESA 7 and 8 to assist in their superintendent search. They will likely hold their first meeting January 23rd. Current District Administrator, Kim Eparvier, plans to retire in June after more than two decades with Peshtigo Schools.
