11/21/2018- As the year draws to a close, so, too, have many of the outstanding hangar lease issues at the Menominee Regional Airport. Tuesday night, the Airport Committee discussed the latest draft of the new lease agreement with the local Civil Air Patrol. There were several concerns with the previous lease, including the fact that no aircraft has been housed in the CAP’s hangar for a number of years. Menominee County Administrator Jason Carviou says the new lease includes a provision that allows other necessary CAP equipment to be stores in the hangar in lieu of an aircraft. He adds, the discounted lease rate offered to the unite will be continued if the CAP can provide in-kind services to the county.
Carviou now plans to send the lease draft along to the national CAP headquarters. Following their approval, the Airport Committee will review a final draft and consider sending it on to the full County Board.
