08/31/2018- Hundreds of people gathered in Crivitz yesterday for the opening ceremony for the Wall that Heals- a travelling three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C. Among those in attendance were members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 164. Glenn Manske of Crivitz is the group’s Senior Vice Commander and a Vietnam veteran. He served with people whose names appear on the wall and he says the exhibit helps provide a some closure to a part of his life he doesn’t often talk about.
Manske says he spent many years trying to avoid most of his memories of his time in Vietnam. But, seeing the Wall now helps keep those precious few good memories alive.
The Wall that Heals and accompanying mobile education center are open for viewing 24 hours a day. The exhibit will remain in Crivitz through Sunday.
