Menominee County Circuit Court Judge Mary Barglind sentenced a 15-year-old boy on Monday to 35 months in a Michigan juvenile detention center with around 310 days served for participating in an attempted drug transaction that resulted in a 55-year-old Menominee man getting shot in the back. The juvenile who acted as an accomplice was originally charged as an adult with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation, assault with a dangerous weapon and four felony firearm offenses.  Those charges were dismissed in a plea agreement July 29th negotiated by the Menominee County Prosecutor’s office and the juvenile pled guilty to assault with intent to rob while unarmed. The juvenile is currently a ward of the state and will receive drug rehabilitation and treatment during his detention.
