The City of Menominee Water and Wastewater Utility Board is pleased to announce that the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy inspected the city’s wastewater treatment plant on June 4, 2021 and issued its written report on August 24, 2021.  The routine and thorough inspection was for the purpose of monitoring compliance  with Michigan environmental statutes and regulations.  Scott Richards, with the Marquette District Office of the Water Resources Division conducted the inspection and commended the project manager, Michael Thorsen for proactively managing the facility, given the effects of some aging equipment.  Special note was made of the well managed laboratory and that all QA/QC protocols were adhered to.  Mr. Richards further commented that the city facility has maintained a good compliance history.
