Candidates to be the next superintendent of the Menominee Area Public Schools began the public interview process Tuesday evening. The interviewees were Drew Buyarski, current High School Principal for the Menominee Area Public Schools, and Richard Sarau, Superintendent from the Baraga School District. The two candidates each responded to 16 questions from the Menominee School Board. “I feel the interview process was very well organized, “says School Board President Derek Butler.

“I don’t think any board of education likes to go through this process, “says Butler.

The School Board voted on each candidate after their interviews. Drew Buyarski received one yes and five no while Richard Sarau received five yes and one no. The Board unanimously agreed to have Richard return for another interview which will take place next Tuesday, January 18th at 6pm in the Blesch Library.
