A Convoy of Military War vehicles will be staying overnight at the Community REC Center in Marinette on Wednesday, August 4th. The Military Vehicle Preservation Association began the trip in South Dakota with stops along the way until they reach their destination of Conneaut, Ohio for the D-Day Normandy Reenactment. City of Marinette’s Marketing and Tourism Director Shawn Katzbeck says, “according to their itinerary the convoy should be here between 2:30 and 3 pm.”
Katzbeck says, “this is free for anyone who would like to come and see vintage war vehicles.”
The convoy will be going through Peshtigo between 1:30 and 2:20pm and then it will make its way to the Community REC Center. Convoy members will be having dinner at the Marinette Elks Club at 6pm and viewing of the vehicles along with a meet and greet will be taking place during that time. Thursday at 7:30am the members will have breakfast at the American Legion Post 146 in Menominee before continuing into the Upper Peninsula. For more information about the convoy, you can go to MVPA.ORG/convoys or their Facebook page MVPA/convoy.
