01/28/2020- The Oconto County couple accused of supplying the fentanyl-laced heroin that killed a Marinette County man last year makes their initial appearance in court. 29-year-old Brian Blasing and 30-year-old Chasity Denny are each facing charges of 1st degree reckless homicide/deliver drugs and manufacture/deliver heroin in the February 2019 overdose death of Terry Westphal of Coleman. The pair were in court Monday and while each qualify for public defense and Blasing has been referred to a Fond du Lac attorney, an attorney has not yet been appointed to Denny. Each are expected back in court for an adjourned initial appearance February 17th. If ultimately convicted, they could face up to forty years in prison on the homicide charge alone.
