07/20/2020- Bond has been revoked for the woman accused of stabbing a teenager in Menominee earlier this month. At a hearing held last Friday, Menominee County 95-A District Court Judge Robert Jamo made the decision to revoke the $10000 recognizance bond for 33-year-old Julia Okafor after it was determined she violated a “no contact” provision of that bond and left the state of Michigan without court approval. On July 7th, Okafor allegedly attacked an 18-year-old girl at Menominee’s lighthouse pier with a large knife and verbally and physically assaulted teens on scene. She’s been charged with two counts of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Ethnic Intimidation. Okafor did not appear at Friday’s hearing and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest. A probable cause conference in the matter is scheduled for tomorrow.
