08/31/2018- Thousands of people will hit the road this weekend for one last summer outing. Although Labor Day is the least traveled of all the summer holiday, each of the season’s previous holidays set travel records in 2018 and Gene Ladoucer, spokesman for AAA Wisconsin, says he expects more of the same for the upcoming three-day weekend.
To minimize traffic issues, the Wisconsin DOT has suspended work on many of its projects throughout the state. Ladoucer says those who are travelling will remain relatively close to home, but that doesn’t make safety any less of a priority.
Peak travel times on Wisconsin highways this weekend are expected to be between noon and 8:00 PM Friday and all day Monday.
