05/13/2019- Specialized support and services are helping keep Menominee County seniors in their homes longer. The Community Action Agency has been serving the region for more than 50 years and is seeing the call for in-home care steadily rise. Sally Kidd is the agency’s Senior Services Director. She says whether a resident needs assistance with home care or daily living activities, the Community Action Agency has staff ready and willing to step in.
The agency is also helping seniors get around a little easier. Their transportation services shuttle people to and from any number of local destinations.
The fourth 10-year-millage for the Community Action Agency was approved by voters last August. That millage will support the continued operation of their senior centers both in Menominee and Delta Counties, as well as home-delivered meals and other in-home services. Most of these services are available to residents age 60 and over. The Community Action Agency will host an open house at the Menominee Senior Center to talk more about these offerings and how to take advantage of them this Wednesday. That event runs from 10:00 AM until noon.
