04/12/2019- Guests at Marinette’s City Park Campground could enjoy their stay a little longer under a recommendation from the City’s Parks and Rec Committee. The existing policy caps the number of days a person or camping unit can occupy the campground at 15 per calendar year. However, the Committee’s new proposal would revise that to 21 consecutive days, with extensions permitted at the City’s discretion if there is space available that hasn’t been reserved by other campers. The group also agreed to reduce camping rates for the rustic sites that don’t have water or electric hook-ups. The cost per night at those sites would be $10, while the powered sites would remain at $20 per night. Both recommendations were sent along to the full Common Council for final consideration.
