The City of Marinette Civic Affairs, Cemetery, Traffic and Lights committee is determining if a pedestrian crossing in the roadway at County T and Highway 41 is a viable option. “As more pedestrians use the County T corridor there is becoming a need for safer pedestrian foot traffic,” says council president Dorothy Kowalski.
“You’ve seen the issues, you’ve seen people in the middle of the road, and at night it’s tough to see them,” says Kowalski.
While there are many questions still needing to be answered such as whether Marinette County will play a part in the construction of the pedestrian crossing, snow removal, and does the department of transportation study need to be updated on the corridor. These questions will be answered at next months Civic Affairs meeting.
