At Wednesday nights City of Marinette’s City Council meeting the council received an update from Ayers and Associates regarding the street designs for Main and Ludington Streets. Ayers representative Pete Kowalachecki says, “since the public information hearing we’ve put together some additional options.”

“I think the consensus of the downtown businesses is… that they want something, but this is not going to solve the lack of business in the downtown, but it’s going to be a very nice improvement” says, Marinette Mayor Steve Genisot.

After a lengthy discussion the council decided that it best to allow the downtown businesses weigh in on the project and speak with Ayers Associates to express their concerns. The council and Ayers Associates will meet again in two-weeks to go over their findings and determine what steps are needed to take at that time.
