In a City of Menominee Special Projects—Community Relations Committee meeting last evening, it was announced that because of the annual Waterfront Festival being canceled, a couple of individuals came forward and stated that they’ve raised enough funds to help the City of Menominee put on a Fourth of July Firework display. Menominee Business Development Corporation Director Nancy Douglas says, “the fireworks crew are really the moving force behind this.”

Douglas says, “we are working with Spielbauer Fireworks Company out of Green Bay.”

With the help from a small group of volunteers, along with City of Menominee Fire, Police, and Parks and Rec, the current plans are to have music in the band shell and activities at Marina Park prior to the Fireworks. The committee unanimously agreed to forward their recommendation to council for their final approval.
