Menominee’s Regional Airport Committee approves several outstanding lease agreements, but seven hangar owners remain in non-compliance. County Administrator Jason Carviou said Tuesday he’s reached out to those tenants that have not signed their new lease agreement and many of them cited the new 10-year lease term as their main concern because the shorter lease could impact the value of their hangars. Carviou says he feels there was a lack of communication between the county and tenants during the lease change process.
Last month, the county board discussed the potential of moving forward with the formal eviction process for non-compliant lease holders. The Airport Committee voted Tuesday to once again send the conversation to the county board to determine how to proceed.
