One Marinette County Supervisor wants to see the County take a firmer stance on the COVID-19 virus as case counts continue to rise locally. Supervisor Stan Gruszynski asked the Administrative Committee last week to consider drafting a resolution which might formalize the County’s support of taking preventative measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus and encourage residents to keep the best interest of the overall public in mind. However, that suggestion was met with some hesitation from other Committee members and Corporation Counsel who said Marinette County Public Health is already putting out information on the virus and further pointed out that if the resolution were to fail at the Board level, it could send a message to residents that the County doesn’t take the virus seriously. It was agreed that any sort of resolution would need to originate with the Health and Human Services Board, who meets next in early November.
