Garfield School Neighbors are vocally opposed to a proposed zoning change that would allow for more housing. The application for the zoning change says the property is currently zoned as One- and Two-Family Residential District; the developer is seeking RM2 or Multiple Family Residential. Community Member Wendy Dzurik spoke during public comment saying…

Developer of Garfield Alex Yanik had this to say…

The plan commission had various questions for the developer, such as how many units is the apartment complex going to be? Yanik states that as of right now, they are looking at eight to nine houses and 20 to 22 apartments or condos. After the committee was satisfied, they had their questions answered. They went through the seven zoning criteria. Each question asked by Mayor Genisot was only met with silence. Which now means it gets forwarded onto the council for their decision. The next City of Marinette Council meet is Tuesday, November 12th at 5pm at Marinette City Hall.
