03/11/2019- A state grant could bring a new event series to Marinette County parks. Forestry and Parks Administrator Pete Villas is pursuing a three-year Joint Effort Marketing grant through the Wisconsin Department of Tourism that would provide nearly $40000 in funding to establish and market a late-summer event to rotate through various county parks each year. Villas says the initiative would not only high light the unique features and amenities at each of the parks, but of their surrounding communities, as well. Last week, the Infrastructure Committee approved Villas apply for, and, if selected, accept and administer the JEM grant. That recommendation now moves on to the full county board.
