03/26/2020- Marinette County Public Health officials are reporting the county’s first confirmed case of COVID-19. That resident is said to have had contact with a confirmed case in another county. No further details about the patient or their condition have been released, but Public Health is working to identify who the resident may have come into close contact with. Marinette County Public Health Officer Molly Bonjean says it’s important that residents don’t panic, but continue to follow recommendations on social distancing and hygiene measures to protect themselves and others and slow the spread of the virus. Public Health and Emergency Management are working together with local, state, and federal partners to implement a response plan. More details on this matter will be released as they become available.
