01/14/2019- Whether you run, plunge, or cook, you can help support a pair of community agencies this month. The annual Da Yooper Winterfest takes place January 26th on Menominee’s frozen waterfront. The day consists of three events- outhouse races, Da Yooper Plunge, and a chili cook-off- all benefiting the River Cities Community Pool and the DAR Boys and Girls Club. Koreen Denowski, Program Director at the DAR, says the event has evolved quite a bit over the past nine years.
Murray’s Irish Pub and Grille will serve as both the morning registration location and Winterfest after-party site. Kasey Ermis is the Aquatics Director at River Cities Community Pool and she says awards and bragging rights will be handed out in several categories for each of the day’s events.
Registration for Da Yooper Winterfest opens at 9:00 AM. Registration forms and official rules for each of the contests can be found on the River Cities Community Pool website.
