Testimony began yesterday in the double homicide trial of 84-year-old Raymand Vanneuwenhoven. Emotions ran high as each witness took the stand and recalled what happened on July 9, 1976, when the lives of the victims David Schuldes and Ellen Matheys were brutally taken at McClintock Park in the Town of Silvercliff. Witness, retired Marinette County Chief Deputy Robert Kohlman took the stand and was questioned by defense attorney Lee Schuchart. Schuchart asks, “did you ever tell the crime lab to destroy evidence?”

Marinette County Defense Attorney DeShea Morrow asks Kohlman, “are you aware whether DNA technology existed in 1980?”

Raymand Vannewenhoven’s trial continues today at 8:30 am at the Marinette County Courthouse.
