A study being conducted by the Wisconsin DNR and other partnering agencies is attempting to determine the movements of walleye and whitefish in and around Green Bay. Transmitters and tags have been attached to 300 walleye and 400 whitefish to track their activity and identify critical spawning locations and conditions. A $100 reward is begin offered for the return of these transmitters. Anglers that catch tagged fish are asked not to freeze the fish, but instead, to call program officials at 715-346-2178 to coordinate the transmitter’s return.
