One man is dead following a drowning in Menominee County’s Lake Township Thursday. First responders were dispatched to Shakey Lakes Park after 67-year-old Lon Harrand didn’t return from a trip to the park to go ice fishing and was not responding to phone calls. When family and friends arrived at the area where Harrand was fishing they reportedly found boot prints traveling out onto the ice, but none returning. Harrand is said to have fallen through the ice and drowned and his body was eventually recovered by ice rescuers. Several local law enforcement and rescue agencies were involved in Thursday’s search and recovery.
