This year’s election cycle had a lot of people expressing support for their favorite candidates, but, with the election behind us, Marinette County is asking residents to take some of their campaign signs down. While it is legal to post signs on private property in the county, it is not legal to place them within the right-of-way of roads. The County’s Highway Department is seeking the public’s cooperation in removing signs they have placed within the right-of-way of a County Trunk Highway by December 14th. After that, the Highway Department will remove and destroy remaining signs. Additionally, the City of Marinette is reminding residents that per City ordinance, all election signs must be removed within seven days of the conclusion of the related election.
