Every Marinette student from first through 12th grade will have access to important educational technology next school year. Tuesday, the Marinette School Board approved the purchase of 350 new Chromebooks, making the Chromebook-to-student ratio 1:1- an initiative established by the school board a few years ago. Dee Morin, District Information Technology Coordinator says the devices are necessary to help students prepare for their career and college experience and at the end of the 2018-2019 school year, seniors will have a $1 buyout option for their Chromebook. The cost of the new Chromebooks is just over $75000. The School Board also approved the purchase of a four-year warranty for the devices for an additional $24000.
Summer hours will go into effect at the Marinette School District’s District Offices next week. Beginning Monday, June 25th, the offices will be open 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 A-M until noon on Fridays. Offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. Regular school-year hours will resume on Monday, August 6th.
