Criminal charges have been filed against the former treasurer of the Crivitz Sports Booster club for allegedly stealing or withholding more than $16000 in funds in 2019. 35-year-old Alicia Maki became treasurer of the organization in June of 2019 and an investigation into the missing money began just three months later in September. Maki reportedly wrote checks to herself for cash from the booster club’s bank account, failed to deposit some of the club’s money, and also used their checking account for personal purchases. The losses include around $6100 from the club’s bean bag tournament and more than $5000 in concession stand sales. Following the investigation, about $12000 was repaid to the club or returned in the form of merchandise. Maki made her initial appearance in Marinette County Court Monday on two felony charges of Theft- Business Setting. Her preliminary hearing has now been scheduled for December 4th.
