(07/18/2018) The Marinette School District is looking at a balanced budget heading into the 2018-2019 school year. District Finance Director Brian Walters presented the preliminary budget to the Board of Education Tuesday. He anticipates the district will see an increase in state aid, as well as an additional $900000 in revenue from two other sources.
Walters says some of the additional money will be put into the district’s capital improvement fund to help pay for future facility maintenance or upgrading expenses.
Walters adds he expects the upcoming year’s tax levy to be almost identical to that of last year’s. The district will likely certify the levy and finalize the 2018-2019 budget in October.
