On Sunday, July 10th at 2:57 pm, the Town of Peshtigo Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Woodridge Drive in the Town of Peshtigo for a garage that was fully engulfed in flames and attached to a residence. Firefighters arrived on scene within nine minutes to find heavy fire and smoke already spreading into the residence and attic along with a parked vehicle, pop-up camper and several pine trees already burning. The response was immediately upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm, which brought in additional apparatus and firefighters from the City of Peshtigo, the City of Marinette, Grover-Porterfield and Village of Pound. No one was at home at the time the fire was reported and there were no injuries, although two pet dogs perished in the fire. Firefighters were on scene for over four hours with the last apparatus departing at 7:14 pm. Cause is currently under investigation but not considered being suspicious in nature.
