02/13/2019- A Forest County whitetail testing positive for Chronic Wasting Disease is believed to have come from the same Marinette County deer farm that saw its first case of the disease this summer. The six-year-old buck was moved to the Forest County hunting ranch in 2014 but was born at the Wild Rivers Whitetail breeding farm in Goodman. Both the farm and the ranch are owned by the same entity and each were quarantined when CWD was detected in a two-year-old doe on the breeding farm in June. This is Forest County’s first confirmed case of CWD.
