More local girls will have the chance to develop their self-confidence and leadership skills through Girls Scouts thanks to a grant from the M&M Area Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee Fund. The funds were awarded to the Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes organization and will ensure no girl is turned away from Girl Scouts due to financial restrictions. The money will primarily pay for membership fees, troop dues, uniform costs, and event and camp fees for families that might not otherwise be able to afford them. More than 240 girls and 91 volunteers are active in Girl Scouts in the Marinette and Menominee area.
